Well before in undergraduate school and continuing in SVA's Graduate School in NYC, Bettina chose fabric as her medium for her sculptural work. Over time the work began to have less internal supports, allowing the fabric's own integrity to serve the compositions on the wall, ceiling, corners, in mid-air and eventually onto the body.
